Description:

The Suffolk County Water Authority currently seeks a Field Supervisor Floater - Trainee to work in the Customer Service Department. The position will be based in Hauppauge, NY but may be assigned to cover other offices as needed. The individual must be able to handle emergency situations such as main breaks and flooding homes and investigate insurance claims. This position is responsible for maintaining employee productivity levels and will also coordinate vehicle fleet maintenance.

Duties include but are not limited to the following:
• Assistance with supervision of the field staff while balancing a work schedule
• Making decisions and answering questions in a fast-paced environment
• Working collaboratively with the field staff as well as other departments
• Good communication and computer skills
• Ability to motivate the field staff
• Must have the ability to multitask and prioritize work
• Must have the ability to guide, teach and interact with the field staff on a daily basis
• Must be able to problem solve the various issues in the field and in the office
• Ability to work from various customer service offices and supervise staff

Requirements include:
• 5 years of customer service experience; field experience preferred
• Associate degree preferred
• Ability to obtain and maintain a Grade “D” Distribution System Operator’s Certificate
• Standard N.Y.S Driver’s License required

*The Authority may accept an equivalent combination of education and experience to meet the requirements*
Applicant’s typical work schedule will be Monday - Friday 7:30 a.m. - 4:30 p.m. Days, hours and location are subject to change based on operational needs of the department. Salary for this position will be commensurate with experience. Suffolk County residency is a requirement.
