SCWA is currently seeking a Junior Engineering Technician to work within the Distribution Engineering group. This individual would provide technical, administrative, and field support to the Construction Maintenance Department by aiding in the analysis and planning of the distribution system.
Responsibilities Include:
- Update hydraulic model by adding new mains, new water supply facilities or changes - using GIS/Modeling tools.
- Update water demand from customer data. Assist in model calibration and perform/run modeling scenarios.
- Prepare GIS maps, databases and reports for fire flow tests and flushing program.
- Update AutoCAD drawings of capital projects.
- Provide technical support to staff in analyzing distribution system performance during main breaks, fire flows and flushing.
- Assist in gathering data for planning system improvements.
- Assist in the hydraulic analysis of the SCWA distribution system utilizing Infowater Modeling Software.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, GIS or related field required.
- 1-3 years' experience in civil engineering design or construction, hydraulic modeling, GIS or related field.
- Previous experience in hydraulic modeling and analysis preferred.
- Proficient computer skills in Microsoft Word, Excel, Access, Power Point and Outlook.
- Experience working with Innovyze Infowater, ESRI Arc Map, AutoCAD, SAP a plus.
