Description:

SCWA is currently seeking an Assistant Manager to work with our New Service Department in our Oakdale office. This individual will be responsible for supporting the Manager of New Construction in all aspects of department operations.

Responsibilities include:
• Submit requests for measurements for water main extensions.
• Review all requests for Letters of Availability.
• Manage requests for water main extensions and requests for new taps.
• Communicate with various departments within SCWA and outside individuals who will include: Engineers, Architects, Developers, Homeowners and local Fire Departments.
• Directly supervise clerical staff, which includes ensuring sufficient coverage for phones, walk-in customers and markout requests.
• Awareness and management of all job functions performed by clerical staff for training purposes and reinforcing training.
• Handle all Public and Private Hydrant agreements.
• Perform administrative functions between Drafting Department and Pipeline Department.
• Approve refund requests and requisitions.

Qualifications:
• 5-7 years of experience dealing with new service requests or related utility work.
• 3-4 years of management experience including; payroll sign-off, vacation scheduling and maintaining workloads.
• Must be familiar with rules and regulations regarding water main extensions and service taps.
• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Project Management or related field preferred.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills required.
• Ability to work with Windows-based and SAP operating systems.

Applicant’s typical work schedule will be Monday - Friday 8:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m. Salary for this position will be commensurate with experience.
