Why do we issue alerts?

During peak summer months, excessive lawn irrigation drains water storage tanks faster than groundwater wells refill them. When tank levels drop to critical thresholds, it lowers systemic water pressure and severely reduces the water reserves required by local fire departments.

Alerts communicate the severity of the situation and request immediate community cooperation.
