The Suffolk County Water Authority has completed a water main replacement project in Montauk, upgrading aging infrastructure to improve water service reliability for local customers.
The project involved replacing approximately 3,200 feet of outdated transite water main along Soundview Drive and surrounding roads with new ductile iron water main. The new infrastructure will provide a more reliable water distribution system while helping ensure continued dependable service for customers in the area.
“Replacing aging water mains is one of the most effective ways we can strengthen our distribution system and continue providing reliable service to our customers,” said SCWA CEO Jeff Szabo. “These proactive infrastructure investments help reduce the likelihood of water main breaks, improve system performance and ensure the residents of Montauk continue receiving the high-quality drinking water they depend on every day.”
The project is part of SCWA’s ongoing commitment to modernizing its infrastructure and investing in improvements that enhance reliability, strengthen the water distribution system and continue delivering high-quality drinking water to customers throughout Suffolk County.
