Suffolk County Water Authority Celebrates 70 Years of High Quality Drinking Water
Since launching its operations in June 1951, Suffolk County Water Authority has been guided by a commitment to provide our customers high quality drinking water. SCWA tests its water constantly for approximately 400 compounds and our internal standards for water quality meet and surpass federal and state water standards.
Below you will find links to a timeline infographic of SCWA’s first 70 years. You will also find an invitation to Go H2O: Your Water Supply and How It Will Shape Suffolk’s Future. This is a virtual panel discussion that will be moderated by SCWA Chairman Patrick G. Halpin on June 24 at 11:00 AM. A group of highly respected experts will join him for what promises to be a lively discussion about the protection of our sole source aquifer and how we can all create a vibrant, safe future for Suffolk County.
As we commemorate 70 years as New York State’s first public benefit corporation for water service, we remain committed to our top priority: ensuring the safety of the drinking water we provide to 1.2 million Suffolk residents.
