Summary:
SCWA is currently seeking an Assistant Civil Engineer to join our Engineering Department. This position is responsible for civil engineering designs pertaining to the construction of new waterworks facilities including all well field infrastructure. The position also includes performing civil design work involving the renovation, repair, and maintenance of existing waterworks facilities.

Description:

 

Responsibilities Include:

  • Prepare civil design drawings and specifications for well field infrastructure and building maintenance/repair work.
  • Coordinate work schedules with contractors and SCWA workforce.
  • Perform field inspection of new construction and the repair/maintenance of existing infrastructure.
  • Review contractor's submittals and shop drawings associated with construction and renovation work.
  • Review contractor invoices and writes SAP service entry sheets for payment and approval by supervisor.
  • Prepare budgetary cost estimates and SAP sub-orders for various civil related projects for approval by supervisor.
  • Periodically assist with survey team with field operations.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering or related field required.
  • 0-3 years’ experience as a Civil Engineer or in a Construction Industry.
  • Working knowledge of civil engineering, construction standards, drafting standards and various building construction codes.
  • Proficient in AutoCAD drafting and MS Office.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Good organizational skills.
  • Engineer-In-Training certification preferred, but not required.
  • Conduct and work in a professional manner to resolve construction conflicts with contractors, manufacturers, suppliers, etc.
