Summary:
SCWA is currently seeking a Storeroom Manager to oversee and manage the storeroom operations, ensuring optimal material management and inventory control practices. This role involves assessing materials for quality and suitability, implementing best practices for inventory management, and supervising a union staff. Regular communication with the finance and procurement departments is essential to address and reconcile any inventory discrepancies, as well as discuss material contracts and purchases. This position will maintain and control sufficient stock levels to facilitate both SCWA crews and contractors in new construction, maintenance, and emergency installations. This position will report to our Oakdale location with a schedule of Mon-Fri, 6:30am-3:30pm.

Responsibilities Include:
- Maintain inventory and inventory controls.
- Ensure cycle counts are completed and accurate.
- Research new material needs and maintains positive relationships with suppliers.
- Manage inventory controls and order approvals through SAP.
- Order all controlled materials.
- Supervise, train and manage all storeroom personnel, fostering a collaborative work environment and ensuring adequate staffing.
- Obtain information on new and problem materials and present it to end-using department.
- Develop and implement new innovative ways to control and distribute materials.
- Oversee annual audit of storerooms and ensure 98-100% accuracy.
- All other duties as assigned by Director of General Services.
Qualifications:
- 4-6 years’ experience working on a construction crew or in the waterworks industry required; 6 years’ experience managing inventory in the waterworks industry preferred.
- 2-4 years’ experience managing a union staff in an inventory/warehousing capacity required; construction maintenance supervisor with 4 years’ experience managing an inventory/warehousing environment preferred.
- High school diploma/GED required; bachelor’s degree in business administration, management or accounting preferred.
- Well versed in all aspects of SAP as it relates to material management, inventory, and procurement.
- Experience is conducting audit activities pertaining to material purchases and inventory.
- Product and supplier knowledge and identification are a must.
- Strong communication skills with contractors and other SCWA departments, along with excellent organizational skills, are essential for success.
- Ability to work outside in the elements when needed.
- A strong ability to learn database programs.
