Summary:
The successful candidate is responsible for the oversight of all capital projects including follow up with various departments to keep projects moving. Assign various work to be done by other departments through notifications and coordinate with the drafting department. Duties also include assisting in managing all capital budgets.

Description:

 

Responsibilities include:

  • Process requests & research pipe offsets, blow offs & valves.
  • Coordinate field measurements for fire hydrants.
  • Review main improvements/replacements with Director of CM, Deputy Director & Distribution Engineer.
  • Coordinate chlorination between pipeline inspectors and CM supervisors.
  • Process in-service of water main and hydrants.
  • Create and maintain SAP notifications in order to track projects from beginning to end.
  • Coordinate the tie-over of services and fast track services on new mains and retirements on main replacements.
  • Assist in budget management and assign WBS as needed.
  • Work closely with Director of CM, managers of Finance, CFO, and all superintendents of Construction Maintenance.
  • Assist field personal with project info from file room.
  • Prepare capital project revisions and or supplementals.
  • Maintain files of completed estimates/measurements of potential capital projects.
  • Provide on-going analysis of capital projects, including post project to determine accuracy of charges.
  • Assist in preparation of Authority expenditures and requisitions for PO’s.
  • Final check and process all project completions to Finance.
  • Process model/map/valve sketch corrections.
  • All other duties as assigned.

 

Qualifications:

  • 3-5 years’ experience in capital budget planning and management, 5-7 years’ experience preferred.
  • Must have knowledge of water construction, estimating and procedures.
  • Must have good organizational, verbal, written, communication, and office skills.
  • Proficient in MS Office (specifically Excel), experience in SAP is a plus.

The hours and days for this position will be Mon-Fri, 8:00am-5:00pm. Salary for this position will be commensurate with education and experience. Suffolk County residency is highly preferred.
