SCWA is seeking a Senior Restoration Inspector to join our Construction Maintenance department in Oakdale, NY. The schedule for this role will be Monday-Friday, 7:30am-3:00pm.
Responsibilities include:
- Oversee and inspect the restoration of roadways, concrete, and landscaping performed by SCWA contractors.
- Create instructions for contractors including modifying drawings, issuing materials, and painting field mark outs for roadway restorations.
- Create field sketch measurements for areas damaged by water main breaks, extensions, and/or installations and proposed restorations.
- Coordinate restorations with appropriate municipal agencies and representatives.
- Coordinate with state and county inspectors regarding restoration of roadways, concrete, and landscaping, including night jobs, and emergency restoration projects as required.
- Ensure proper safety, and M.P.T. according to state and county requirements.
- All other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- 5 years’ experience with paving or road construction required, 6-10 years’ experience preferred.
- High school diploma or GED equivalent required.
- Working knowledge of the construction industry, specifically road/concrete construction.
- Excellent verbal, written, communication and organizational skills.
- Ability to interface with contractors and work outdoors.
- Must possess a valid NY State Driver’s license.
- Must possess an understanding of state and county regulations such as on-the-job safety, roadway, concrete, and landscaping specs.
- Ability to communicate and defuse negative situations with customers as needed.
