Description:

SCWA is currently seeking an Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) Coordinator to work with the EHS Supervisor to develop and administer safety trainings and programs to SCWA employees. This individual will be responsible for ensuring safety standards are upheld throughout the Authority.

Responsibilities include:
•Provide employee training in subject areas specific to SCWA operations and applicable OSHA standards.
•Create and revise all employee EHS training PowerPoint presentations to ensure compliance with the most currentstandards and regulations.
•Conduct the refresher Asbestos Operation and Maintenance training course for all SCWA employees that hold anOperation and Maintenance license.
•Teach, correct, reinforce, and provide knowledge and information to SCWA employees with respect to companysafety policies, procedures, and guidelines.
•Survey and maintain statistics of equipment, building fire exits, building evacuations, and Safety Data Sheets.
•Perform worksite safety inspections regarding job-site setups, trenching and shoring, personal protectiveequipment, etc for all field personnel.
•Perform monthly Petroleum Bulk Storage and Chemical Bulk Storage tank inspections to comply with all NYSDepartment of Environmental Conservation regulations.
•Coordinate and attend the biennial CPR training.
•Member of SCWA’s Safety Committee that meets monthly.
oCollect and organize the monthly incident/accident statistics (injury type, severity, prevalence, etc.)
oInvestigate and address safety concerns that arise during the meetings.
•Member of SCWA’s Motor Vehicle Accident Review Committee that meets quarterly.
oPerform accident investigation to determine the root cause and necessary follow-up training.

Qualifications:
•Minimum one year experience conducting classroom training.
•Bachelor of Science Degree required, in Environmental Health and Safety or related field.
•Minimum one year experience performing safety and health inspections.
•Contractor/Supervisor Asbestos license preferred.
•Working knowledge of OSHA standards as applies to SCWA operations.
•Strong verbal and written communication skills necessary; public speaking skills a must.
•Ability to work outdoors as warranted.
