PUBLIC NOTICE FORM

DRINKING WATER PROBLEM CORRECTED

Customers of the Suffolk County Water Authority were notified on December 17, 2020 of a problem with our drinking water and were notified to boil their water before use. This notification pertained to the following:

Residents located on the Western end of Makamah Beach Road (house number 30 and all houses to the west) in Northport, NY.

We are pleased to report that the problem has been corrected and that it is no longer necessary to boil water before use. We apologize for any inconvenience and thank you for your patience.

We recommend that prior to resuming normal use, you thoroughly flush your service line and all taps by running your water for five (5) minutes.

Please share this information with all of the other people who drink this water, especially those who may not have received this notice directly (i.e., people in apartments, nursing homes, schools and businesses). You can do this by posting this notice in a public place or by distributing copies.
