Important – Please Read Before Real Estate Closing

The balance displayed is NOT a final bill or payoff amount. It reflects the balance in SCWA’s records as of the date of your search and may not include water or other charges that have not been billed or posted.

Do not rely on the balance displayed for a real estate closing or title transaction. A final balance can be determined only after the account is finalized and SCWA issues a Final Bill. A zero balance does not necessarily mean that no additional amount is owed.

Before closing, the purchaser, seller, attorney, or title company should request a Final Bill from SCWA and obtain confirmation that all amounts due have been paid.

Water charges are a lien on the property pursuant to Public Authorities Law 1078-f.
