Suffolk County Water Authority (SCWA) proposes to install emergency backup generators at 14 well field and pump stations that currently do not have generators (the “Action”).The well field and pump stations are located in the towns of Brookhaven, East Hampton, Huntington, Islip, Smithtown, Southold and Southampton.Each site will receive one generator. 
 
SCWA has prepared 14 Parts I and II of the Long Environmental Assessment Form (LEAF) for the Action.On the basis of the LEAFs, SCWA has prepared a draft Negative Declaration.SCWA also prepared an Environmental Information Document for the Project. 
 
SCWA will receive comments on the draft Negative Declaration until January 2, 2015.If no substantive comments are received SCWA anticipates issuing the Negative Declaration for the Action after the comment period closes.
