Terms and Conditions of Water Service

By submitting this application for water service, the applicant enters into a legal agreement with the Suffolk County Water Authority (SCWA) and agrees to adhere to all established Rules, Regulations and applicable laws.

Responsibility for Charges: The applicant is responsible for the timely payment of all water usage fees as well as baseline quarterly charges. Baseline quarterly charges accrue on all open accounts regardless of whether water is consumed during that period.

Account Responsibility	Charges and deposits are the sole responsibility of the individual or entity under whose name the account is opened.

Important: Discontinuing Service The applicant remains liable for all charges assessed against the subject premises until such time that the applicant formally discontinues service and closes the account with SCWA.

Deposit Refunds: Upon move-out or formal account closure, any security deposit held on the account will be applied to the final bill. Any remaining credit balance thereafter will be refunded to the account holder.

Notice: Any unpaid charges that are in arrears more than 90 days as of May 1 of each calendar year are eligible to be converted to a tax levy against the service address. These charges will be collected as a lien on the property tax bill in accordance with New York State Law.
