The Suffolk County Water Authority completed a water main replacement project in Southold to improve reliability and continue providing high-quality drinking water service to customers in the area.
Approximately 4,200 feet of aging transite water main located on Jernick Lane, West Hill Road, Calves Neck Road and Harper Road were replaced with new ductile iron water main. The infrastructure upgrade enhanced system reliability and strengthened water service for residents.
“This project was another important investment in improving our infrastructure and ensuring dependable water service for our customers,” said Jeff Szabo. “Replacing older water mains with modern ductile iron pipe creates a more reliable product for customers and helps maintain the high level of service our communities expect.”
The project was part of SCWA’s ongoing commitment to upgrading aging infrastructure across Suffolk County and investing in the long-term reliability of the public water supply system.
