The Suffolk County Water Authority is proud to announce we have partnered with Brinkmann’s True Value Hardware to promote two unique water conservation initiatives: SCWA’s Water Wise Club and Water Wise Checkups.

When customers sign up to become members of the Water Wise Club, they become eligible to receive a credit of up to $50 on their SCWA account for purchasing water saving devices from Brinkmann’s such as low-flow showerheads, faucet aerators and rain sensors.

To become a member of the Water Wise Club today, fill out one of the blue sign-up forms available at Brinkmann’s True Value in Blue Point, located at 125 Montauk Highway. For more information, visit www.scwa.com/eastendwaterclub.

Water Wise Checkups, SCWA’s newest conservation initiative, is a free service provided by the Authority, which sends one of our water experts to your home for a one-on-one consultation. Our expert will ask a series of questions about your home to estimate your total daily water use. Water Wise Checkups identify each point of water use indoors and outdoors and estimates the quantity of water used at each of these points. The goal is to identify and quantify previously unaccounted for water losses, providing you with a road map for potential savings. Our water expert will show you exactly how much water you used last quarter and can compare that to your past usage numbers, as well as usage for the average customer in the area.

To sign up for your free Water Wise Checkup today, fill out one of the white sign-up forms, also available at Brinkmann’s Blue Point location. For more information, go to www.SCWA.com/Water_Wise_Checkup.

"When our customers use water wisely, everybody wins," said SCWA Chief Executive Officer Jeffrey W. Szabo. "Conserving water not only lowers customers’ cost, but could potentially reduce the capital needed for additional SCWA infrastructure to meet the enormous demand during the summer months."

"The people who come into our stores aren’t just our customers, they’re our neighbors," Brinkmann’s Hardware owner Hank Brinkmann said. "As Suffolk residents ourselves, we recognize how important it is to conserve this precious natural resource. That’s why we’re proud to partner with Suffolk County Water Authority on these initiatives and proud to supply you with these great water-saving devices for your home."

Brinkmann’s True Value Hardware has four convenient locations in Blue Point, Sayville, Holbrook and Miller Place. Please note that SCWA sign-up forms are available only at Brinkmann’s Blue Point location.

The Suffolk County Water Authority is an independent public-benefit corporation operating under the authority of the Public Authorities Law of the State of New York. Serving approximately 1.2 million Suffolk County residents, the Authority operates without taxing power on a not-for-profit basis.
