Individual will oversee daily operations of SCWA water treatment processes (iron filtration; GAC; ion exchange; RO; AOP; chemical treatment; others) and provide assistance on water quality issues. Supervise routine O&M preventative maintenance and spare parts inventory for treatment processes. Provide operator training and assist in process troubleshooting as needed.

Production Control


The successful candidate will:

  • Maintain various water quality related databases
  • Troubleshoot and track water quality issues/customer complaints related to treatment.
  • Participate in rotating On-Call Supervisor schedule for Production Control
  • Develop / manage tracking systems to oversee various treatment routines
  • Work with other SCWA Departments on water quality issues
  • Assist in water treatment related R&D work
  • Assist in routine Production Control station inspections
  • All other duties as assigned



  • Working knowledge of water treatment practices; treatment process design; hydraulics; water chemistry
  • Must have excellent organizational skills
  • Able to work outdoors, sometimes at heights or inside filters
  • Must be able to work in moist environments and tolerate exposure to water treatment chemicals
  • Must be able to work cooperatively with others, take direction from superiors and work well independently
  • Proficient in all MS Office programs
  • Experience in engineering modeling programs (hydraulic; chemical) and GIS helpful 
  • Must have demonstrated ability to write effectively and develop data-tracking programs
  • 1 year – water/wastewater/industrial waste treatment required; 2-4 years’ experience preferred
  • Associates Degree – Science or Engineering required; Bachelor’s degree preferred
  • Water Treatment Plant Operator (WTPO) IIB certification preferred
