Description:

The Suffolk County Water Authority is seeking a Deputy Director of Production Control for our Production Control Department. This individual is responsible to assist the Director in the management of all Production Control offices and ensure that the SCWA water supply system delivers high-quality drinking water.

Responsibilities include:

  • • Direct supervision of various trades supervisors and their subordinates.
  • • Management of Production Control-related capital improvement construction projects and coordination of construction activities between Production Control and other SCWA departments.
  • • Administration of inventory control to ensure proper stocking of material for routine maintenance and capital construction projects at Production Control controlled facilities.
  • • Monitor pump stations via SCADA system and troubleshoot problems.
  • • Inspect SCWA facilities and assets.
  • • Administration of SCWA policies and union contracts to ensure compliance by all personnel.

Qualifications:

  • • Must possess NYS Water Treatment Plant Operator Grade 1B and Water Distribution D licenses.
  • • Must have a solid knowledge base of SCWA water supply operations, maintenance and water supply hydraulics.
  • • 7 years experience in the operation of a water supply system or field operations experience in a related field/Utility is required.
  • • Bachelor’s degree in Science, Engineering Project Management or related field preferred.
  • • Experience working with SAP, Microsoft Office Suite and other computer programs.
  • • Must be able to provide off-hours support and be available in emergency situations.
  • • Class B CDL with Haz-Mat Endorsement preferred.
