Description:

SCWA is currently seeking a Junior Engineering Technician to work within the Distribution Engineering group to support the SCWA Hydraulic Model. This individual would provide technical, administrative, and field support to the Distribution Engineering group within the Construction Maintenance Department by being involved with the analysis and planning of the distribution system.

Responsibilities Include:
• Update hydraulic model by adding new mains, new water supply facilities or changes - using GIS/Modeling tools.
• Update water demand from customer data. Assists in model calibration and perform/run modeling scenarios.
• Assist in implementing system wide flushing program; perform fire flow testing.
• Prepare GIS maps, data bases and reports for fire flow tests and flushing program.
• Provide technical support to staff in analyzing distribution system performance during main breaks, fire flows and flushing. Assist in gathering data for planning system improvements.
• Assist in the gathering and processing GPS data for a buried asset inventory and asset management system.

Qualifications:
• Associates degree in Mathematics, Computer Science, Engineering or related field required.
• Previous experience with underground construction including water main maintenance and the necessary rules and regulations.
• Experience working in the field on various construction projects.
• Water Operator Grade D License or ability to obtain one preferred.
• Proficient computer skills in Synergi Water, Innovyze Infowater, ESRI Arc Map, AutoCAD, SAP and Trimble GPS Pathfinder Office, Microsoft Word, Excel, Access, Power Point and Outlook.
