Description:

SCWA is currently seeking an Assistant Trades Supervisor for the Production Control Department located in Bay Shore. The successful candidate will be responsible for assisting the electrical, mechanical and instrumentation/control supervisors in managing the maintenance of all components of the water supply system.


Responsibilities Include:
• Supervises all Production Control Trades staff in the field to ensure work is performed properly, timely and safely. Visits work sites to line up jobs and monitor work progress.
• Works with other SCWA departments to set up new construction projects and monitors work and progress.
• Researches, specifies, obtains quotes for and order parts and equipment via requisitions (or directs the storekeeper) to maintain adequate inventory of repair parts. Investigates new equipment options.
• Inspect SCWA facilities and assets to ensure their proper operation and maintenance.
• Assist in the field supervision of all Production Control employees to ensure that work is being performed properly and efficiently.
• Rotating after hour on-call supervision for Production Control

Qualifications:
• Knowledge of electrical, mechanical, and instrumentation systems or related fields.
• 3-5 years’ experience in the operation of a public water supply or related field.
• Supervisory experience in operations including managing employees in a union environment preferred.
• Bachelor’s Degree in mechanical or electrical engineering or related field preferred.
• Ability to obtain and maintain a New York State Grade IIB Water Treatment License and CDL B License with Hazardous Materials Endorsement.

Work hours for this position may include nights and weekends on a rotating schedule. Salary for this position will be commensurate with experience.
