This is an important message from the Suffolk County Water Authority to our customers. A prolonged period of heat and humidity is expected to begin Saturday and last into early next week. We are anticipating unprecedented demand for water during this period. We are asking all of our customers to help by immediately changing the settings on your irrigation controllers so they water every other day, not every day. We also ask that you adjust watering times so that your systems do not operate during the 3 a.m. to 7 a.m. hours. With your help we will preserve our precious resource and ensure there is plenty of water to address emergencies.
