Dear SCWA Customer:

The Suffolk County Water Authority’s mission is to provide the highest quality drinking water at the lowest possible cost, while providing exemplary customer service. We take this mission very seriously and work hard each and every day to live up to it.

I am writing to you regarding action by the New York State Health Department to establish new regulations related to removing  the compounds 1,4 Dioxane, PFOA and PFOS from drinking water.  The Water Authority supports the proposal being considered by the New York State Health Department.

We recently presented the below presentation to the members of the Suffolk Legislature’s Environmental Protection Committee.  The presentation lays out the State’s proposal and how SCWA plans to move forward to address 1,4 Dioxane, PFOA and PFOS.

Please feel free to review the presentation and contact my office should you have any questions or comments.  Be assured, additional updated information will be provided as the regulatory process unfolds.
