The Suffolk County Water Authority replaced approximately 2,700 feet of old cast iron water main along Dune Road in the Village of Quogue with new ductile iron pipe. The project was part of a multi-year effort to upgrade aging infrastructure along Dune Road and improve system reliability for residents and businesses in the area.
“The replacement of older mains like these is a critical part of our ongoing infrastructure improvement program,” said SCWA Chief Executive Officer Jeff Szabo. “Coastal areas are especially susceptible to breaks because of difficult ground conditions. Staying ahead of the curve with projects like this ensures that our customers continue to receive the highest quality water and reliable service.”
Village of Quogue Mayor Robert Treuhold praised SCWA’s continued investment in the community. “We appreciate SCWA’s proactive approach in modernizing our water system,” said Mayor Treuhold. “Upgrading this vital infrastructure helps protect our residents and supports the long-term sustainability of our village.”
SCWA will continue to invest in upgrades along Dune Road to reduce the likelihood of main breaks in the future.
