Suffolk County Fresh Air host families awaited the arrival of their Fresh Air children on July 29th at the Target Parking Lot in Commack. The Suffolk County Water Authority provided free water bottles for all of the Fresh Air children visiting to help keep them active and hydrated all summer long!

This summer, thousands of children will enjoy a summer outside of the city with volunteer host families in suburban, rural and small town communities along the East Coast and Southern Canada through The Fresh Air Fund’s Friendly Towns Program.

The Fresh Air Fund, an independent, not-for-profit agency, has provided free summer experiences to more than 1.8 million New York City children from low-income communities since 1877. For more information about hosting a Fresh Air child, visit The Fresh Air Fund online at www.freshair.org.

On July 29th, Fresh Air children arrived in Commack. 15 of Suffolk County’s families are opening their hearts and homes to New York City children. The Suffolk County Water Authority supplied water bottles for all of the Fresh Air children visiting to help keep them active and hydrated all summer long! This summer they are excited to go swimming, have backyard BBQ’s, meet new friends, and explore all that Suffolk County has to offer. The children will be visiting local host families for one or two weeks.
