The Suffolk County Water Authority is seeking an Employee Data and Leaves Specialist in our Human Resources Department located in Oakdale, NY.  Reporting to the Chief Human Resources Officer, this person manages all aspects of the internal SAP system relating to employee master data as well as managing the various employee leaves including FMLA and NYS Disability. This person will also be responsible for running reports, compliance and maintaining data integrity.

 

The successful candidate will:

  •  Act as a Human Resources point of contact to department staff, IT, Finance and other departments and employees
  • Provide support for HR systems including researching options to improve and increase SAP functionality
  • Maintain, update and monitor employee qualifications (DOT’s, CDL’s, PFT’s, etc) and DMV LENS program
  • Review SAP master data integrity and conduct audits of data
  • Develop and maintain all reports to support HR and other departments, including employee actions reports, vacancy reports, budget and workforce planning reports
  • Advise/counsel employees and manage all aspects of short-term and long-term leaves of absence
  • Process monthly reports for DBL/FMLA status updates

 

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 3-5 years of SAP experience with a strong understanding of Human Resources and Payroll functionalities and processes.
  • Bachelors Degree in Human Resources or Business Management preferred
  • Considerable knowledge of leave policy, FMLA and NYS Disability regulations/laws and processes
  • Ability to develop strong rapport with SAP HR users and maintain a high degree of confidentiality
  • Strong communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills
  • Detail oriented with analytical problem-solving skills
  • Proficient in MS Office suite and SAP HR module
