Description:

Responsibilities include:

  • Assist customers, engineers, architects, plumbers, RPZ testers and contractors with requirements via phone and walk in
  • Perform field work inclusive of inspections/surveys if one of field personnel is absent or work requires Supervisor decisions
  • Prepare daily work for field inspectors
  • Open and distribute incoming mail
  • Make daily reminder calls for following day’s appointments
  • Assist employees with escalated calls
  • Fulfill part of Supervisor daily job functions during absence
  • Answer phones when short-staffed or phone volume is heavy

Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required
  • 1-2 years’ experience in construction, underground construction experience highly preferred
  • Knowledge of the Cross Connection policy/procedure in New York State and Suffolk County, as well testing of backflow prevention devices
  • Good verbal, written and organizational skills
  • Proficient in MS Office and SAP
  • Ability to work outdoors when required, inspecting the installation of backflow prevention devices in above/below grade vaults, Hot boxes or inside buildings. Surveying to determine the degree of hazard at a facility and determining the placement location of the backflow prevention device
