Meter Change Out

The SCWA has initiated an important program to replace old water meters in our system with modern, easy-to-read meters. There is no charge for this service and it usually takes less than a half hour to complete the installation of the new meter.

The new meters can be easily read by our customers who wish to read them inside their homes, or by our meter readers outside. This program is critical in our efforts toward eliminating estimated bills, a common complaint of our customers.

We encourage you to contact the SCWA's contractor, Asplundh Constuction Corp. Inc. (UMI), to make an appointment to have your meter changed. Appointments do fill up quickly; so the sooner you can call the better. The appointments will be made within two-hour intervals (i.e. 9-11 am, 10-12 etc.). As well as taking appointments, UMI may be in your area making personal visits to your home to change your meter.

All Asplundh Constuction Corp. representatives will have an identification card issued by the SCWA, a uniform with the Asplundh Constuction Corp. name, and a clearly marked vehicle with the Asplundh Constuction Corp. name.

It also is important that the area around the meter be cleared of any debris or obstacles, ensuring less time for the installation.
