SCWA Focused on Improving Infrastructure

On Tuesday, July 20, 2010, Suffolk County Water Authority Chief Executive Officer Jeffrey Szabo met with Legislator DuWayne Gregory at a main replacement job site on Barberry Court in Amityville.
“The Authority remains focused on restoring and maintaining our extensive drinking water system to ensure the safety of our customers,” said Szabo.
Legislator Gregory added, “This project is a great example of Suffolk County and the Water Authority working together to improve our infrastructure and fire protection in Suffolk County.”
An older, smaller main was replaced by a new larger diameter main, which will improve the flow, pressure and overall quality of the water. This effort is part of the Authority’s on-going water main infrastructure replacement program.
