SCWA Educational Programs

Public education is an essential ingredient in maintaining the quality of our water resources. In addition to press releases, annual reports and responding to inquiries with information, we also offer an educational program for the classroom. This 45-60 minute presentation is offered at no cost to schools in Suffolk County.

Our educational outreach program is directed toward students in the 4th through 8th grades. The presentation has been designed to cover certain material required by the New York State tests and curriculum. The water cycle is reviewed and the source and protection of our drinking water on Long Island is emphasized.

Our Educational Programs Coordinator can be reached at
(631) 563-0219 to schedule a visit to your school.

Additionally, tours of our state-of-the-art water testing laboratory or one of our pump stations can be arranged. Please note that time of year and age of tour group determines availability.
